Automatically Populate Instant Messaging Shared Roster

The new Instant Messaging client in IceWarp's v10 Webmail, or a software messaging client that supports jabber, can automatically populate it's roster by creating a roster.dat file in your domains configuration folder.






Follow these steps to create a shared roster.

1. Locate your domains configuration folder. The default location is in config\your_domain, example

C:\installation_directory\config\your_domain.com\

2. Create a file called roster.dat and save to your domains config folder.

config\your_domain\roster.dat

3. Edit this file and enter [your_domain.com] on a single line, include the brackets, and save the file. Make sure your text editor does not add .txt extension to the file name.

4. Verify that the Instant Message Service is started from System - Services. If it is, restart it to load the new roster.

5. From your Instant Messaging client (Webmail or software client) take it offline and back online and your domain roster will automatically populate.
